A lot of the problems I’ve had in my own life have stemmed from feeling unsafe. I grew up in a home that was physically, mentally, and emotionally unsafe and a lot of those feelings have followed me. To my finances, to my homes, to my relationships. Most notably to my nervous system and emotions. This is where my anxiety comes from—and maybe yours too.

Safety, to me, is about that feeling that you will be alright. Knowing that no one is going to hurt you and that you don’t have to be on edge anymore.

This card feels like expressing yourself and not stressing about it. Like being happy without worrying how it’ll be ruined later. Like sleeping at night knowing that no one’s stalking you anymore and you’re not running out of time to become successful. It’s peaceful.

Advice

Find a comfort that you can return to every time you feel unsafe. This can be a song, book, movie, or yoga pose. Breathing deeply in child’s pose for 5 minutes can relax your nervous system. Bird chirping sounds can help your subconscious feel safer as well.
