Inner child

Channeled song: You’ll Always Find Your Way Back Home by Hannah Montana

Your inner child is a very sensitive being. They often feel happy, afraid, etc. Remember that the way you treat yourself is how you’re treating that little 5-year-old version of you. Protect yourself the way you’d protect that sweet, innocent baby.

Staying in touch with your inner child is a great way to feel carefree. There’s a certain zest for life that only children can activate. You were once a child, meaning you have access to this zest.

We often lose ourselves as we grow up and stifle our desires for happiness, entertainment, and joy in an attempt to cope with the harsh truths and realities about the world we live in. Contrary to popular belief, those things are necessary for our fulfillment in this life. Never be afraid or embarrassed of wanting these things.

Advice

When you ask for advice and get this card, it means that you should get in touch with your inner child. Eat your favorite childhood foods, watch your favorite movies, listen to your favorite songs. Playing old video games or even swinging on a swing set are great ways to get in touch with your inner child. You can’t heal them without first getting in touch with them. Doing things that you weren’t allowed or were physically restricted from doing as a kid is a great healing outlet. For example, if your family didn’t let you get a dog and you wanted one, try getting a new pet.
