Self love

Channeled song: After the Storm by Kali Uchis and Tyler the Creator

You probably know this, but self-love is so much more than spoiling yourself with material things and luxurious spa experiences. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with expressing love to yourself with those things, but it does go deeper.

Self-love is protecting your peace at all costs. It’s leaving that toxic friendship or cooking at home rather than eating out all the time. It’s showing up for yourself at all times and loving yourself regardless of your mistakes. It’s about accepting yourself fully and saying to hell with anyone who wants you to feel guilty about who you are and what you like. It’s digging deep into yourself and doing the work—journaling, working out, taking a shot at your dreams. Doing things that are good for you even if you don’t feel like you have the strength right now. It’s taking a rest day if you’re burnt out. It’s that unconditional compassion.

Advice

It’s time to start showing up for yourself a bit more. Time to focus on yourself and let go of anything that’s getting in the way of living the life you want to live. Getting this card as advice can also mean your view of self-love may need a shift. You should never put conditions on your willingness to love yourself—it feels better when you love yourself unconditionally.
